Carthaigh Coffee

The anticipation is over! Carthaigh Coffee is having its official soft opening this weekend at 3669 Main Street in Stone Ridge, right across from the Library. Andrew, the owner will be there through Monday, May 29th from 9am - 6pm.

I met Andrew about a year ago. When we would talk about coffee his energy shifted, his eyes widened and it was obvious this was his passion. The day he got his shiny new La Marzocco coffee machine he came and did a demo for me in the shop. The process involved involved scales, beans, grinders and steamers. My eyes were the ones that were now wide open and my appreciation for artisanal coffee had been awakened with the assistance of his robust espresso. To follow his journey reminded me of my own and it truly makes me happy to see his dream of being a business owner come full circle. All in good time, through persistance, permits, the hoops and jumps sideways, forward and backwards, Carthaigh Coffee is here to stay.

As Andrew made me a Rooibos tea I admired the curation of artists on the walls which include works from Sinead Day MacLeod, Nicole Marin, Rebecca Artemisa and Giselle Potter.

There is something to be said about having a place to go where you know you will always find a smile behind the counter, a friend, a familiar face after long day or as the sun is rising. Andrew not only offers a smile but a wealth of knowledge of his products and is excited to share it with you. Stop by and grab a coffee, read a book and stay a while.
